What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how you use Sidequest.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session Token | This keeps you signed in. It contains a unique session identifier linked to your account. | Until expiry / sign-out |
Session data
When you sign in, we create a server-side session that stores your session token, IP address, and user agent (browser and device information). This data is used to:
- Maintain your authenticated state across page loads
- Detect suspicious sign-in activity from unfamiliar devices or locations
- Automatically expire sessions after a period of inactivity
Sessions have an expiration date and are cleaned up automatically. You can end a session at any time by signing out.
Third-party cookies
We use minimal third-party services. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may set performance-related cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block or delete cookies, but this may prevent you from signing in or using core features of Sidequest. Here’s how to manage cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Changes to this policy
If we start using additional cookies or tracking technologies, we’ll update this page and notify you where required. Check back periodically for the latest information.
